Movie Date

Okay. I admit I’ve been slacking off. I was in a blogging funk. I had no inspiration for a post and I just didn’t know what to write. But I’ve been brainstorming and have some great post ideas for this month. To begin, here’s a post for those days when you just want to be at the barn but it’s not possible, or when you want to watch a really good movie but want it to be horse centered.

*Can be found on Netflix

Flicka– I have loved this movie since I was young. It is tied with Secretariat as my all-time-favorite. I loved the second and third movie too. If you haven’t already watched it, you HAVE to! If you have, surely you won’t mind watching it again.

Secretariat– I went to see it in theaters on opening day. I fell in love, I was on the edge of my seat in some of the scenes! If you haven’t watched it, it is definitely a must-see.

Storm Rider*- I found it on Netflix, it really is a great movie. Some of the acting isn’t perfect, but the story is great. Spoiler Alert: she tries to train a mule to jump. It is  a cute movie and a good one to watch a couple times.

Amazing Racer*- Just a really good story all around. A bit of a tear-jerker but it was still a good movie and it’s only an hour and a half long. It wasn’t a favorite for me personally, but I still enjoyed watching it.

Cowgirls and Angels*- Warning: you will cry. But don’t let that scare you, this movie is inspiring and very cute for all ages. I haven’t watched the second one but I’ve seen the first one hundreds of times and can almost cite it word for word. Sort of.

The Greening of Whitney Brown*- THIS is what you call a tear-jerker. It’s a wonderful story of a girl who’s parents wanted/had to go back to a simple life style. From the big city back to the country was a tough move for Whitney but she came to love the country. All because of one horse.

A Gift Horse*- This was an okay movie. It has a good story but it just wouldn’t be one of my must-sees. It did have a really good ending that I didn’t predict. It isn’t very long and it is cute but there were other movies I definitely liked more.

The Saddle Club– This one is not on Netflix but it seems as if it was on Hulu at one point. It honestly was not one of my favorites, but it is a cute show.

Heartland*- Well. I have watched every episode of Heartland at least three times a piece. Being a Canadian show I find that the new seasons take a little bit to get on Netflix but new episodes can be seen on the TV. There’s plenty to catch up on though. Definitely a must-see. Very good show. One of my favorites 🙂
